ABOUT
Iris Gould is a Los Angeles–based composer whose work bridges the worlds of film, animation, and contemporary orchestral composition. Her creative process merges lyrical thematic writing with distinctive textures, sound design, and live string and vocal instrumentation. Her music has been recorded with the Boston Conservatory Orchestra and in renowned studios such as NYC Powerstation and EastWest Studios.
Iris currently composes music for film and television placement at renowned LA library houses, among them Extreme Music & Parasol Music. She has recently collaborated with UNICEF, and received a nomination for Best Film Score at the EVVY Awards for her work on “The Prince Charming Theory”, screened this year at La Femme International Film Festival. She is also beginning her horror feature debut on the film “The Black Chapel”. Her work has spanned orchestration and music preparation, which includes credits on “Noxturne” with director Kristina Klebe, and “Una Cabeza en La Pared” which won a nomination in the Best Short Fiction Film category at Málaga Spanish Film Festival.
In Spring of 2026, she would also be selected to participate in the Alliance for Women Film Composers Mentorship Program, as well as the GRAMMYU 2025-2026 Mentorship cycle. Iris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Film and Media Scoring and a minor in conducting. Outside of scoring she is developing a solo piano album while also participating as an active member & research volunteer for The Alliance for Women Film Composers.
